DANCE IS AN ART INSPIRED BY HEART AND SOUL
The theme of ballet is very special in the artwork of the graphic artist Zorigt UYANGA. We can say that, up to this date, she has managed not only to reveal the beauty of dance, but also to formulate its pictorial embodiment, as complete and technically justified as possible, by way of using a whole range of means and tools of modern graphic art.
Ballerina in a pose or in a jump? Did she bent down slightly to take a step, or did she complete the rotation? Z. Uyanga works as a designer: she constantly strives for maximum brevity and expressiveness of the image.
The exhibition presents monotypes of different years, oil works, but the artist is not afraid to experiment: more than a hundred etchings in the form of an installation are a kind of stage in the work of Z. Uyanga. We see several images of ballerinas printed in different colors on small sheets of paper. Several options for repetitive motion are a solution on the verge of animation: a synthesis of static and dynamic art has actually been achieved. But here we see other meanings.
But that's not all. Different colors in repeating compositions also create different characters. Warm colors give the dance the basic source of the sound, while dark and cold ones, on the contrary, give the impression of a drama. We seem to see how different ballerinas perform the same part and bring into it our understanding of the role, our sense of music and movement.
Ballet in the graphic works of Z. Uyanga is a ballet in the literal sense of the word; it is pure movement, beauty, and musicality of lines. Both the new exhibition and new works show that Z. Uyanga still finds inspiration in this topic, gradually overcoming the border between graphics and choreography.
