Solo exhibit of Namuun Batbileg, the first Laureate of Swiss Ambassador’s Art Prize will be open for public from January 26 till February 4, 2019 at Art Space 976 located in the 1st floor of Choijin Suites Building, Jamyan Gun street. Opening hours: 11.00-19.00.
Namuun Batbileg attended painting classes at Mongolian State University of Culture and Arts-Fine Art and Design school , which she completed in 2015. Right after completion, she travelled to Brazil, where she lived for a while. During her stay in Brazil, Namuun traveled around the country, where she did research for her works and developed an interest in photography, which played important role in her further artistic developments. In 2016 she held her first solo show OIR-RIO at The Fine Arts Museum of Zanabazar. Afterwards she started working intensively and was featured in several solo exhibitions including Indigenous People at Children and Youth Theatre, Erdenet in 2017, Beyond Borders, Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet and participated in Woman Artists Exhibition held at Art Gallery of Union of Mongolia. She also exhibited here works on intangible heritage of Mongolia in Bulgaria and Switzerland. In 2018 she became the first Laureate of Swiss Ambassador’s Art Prize and attended residency program at the Geneva School of Art and Design, during which she created ME-WE works exhibited here.
