Mongolian Contemporary Art Support Association and 976 Art Gallery with the support by Swiss Agency for International Development is proud to present NOMADIC SPIRIT, a group show of contemporary artists exploring local cultures, people and nature, that are affected by mining and other human-related activities. Artists worked collaboratively and individually to find ideas for the project and collected materials to be used for the exhibition. Featuring 7 artists including famous duo Dias & Riedweg includes Mauricio de Mello Dias (b. 1964, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and Walter Stephan Riedweg (b. 1955, Luzern, Switzerland) along with Enkhzaya.E, Bolortuvshin.J, Munkhbolor.G, Davaajargal.Ts, Gazug.S from Mongolia, the exhibition reflects on the expedition that lasted 11 days traveling to Uvurkhangai, Arkhangai, Bulgan and Tuv provinces. Casting a light on the diversity of contemporary approaches to abstraction, the works explore the impact on the landscape caused by consumerism, across generations and disciplines.
