“Thread” — Solo Exhibition by Artist Ts. SolongoArtist Ts. Solongo’s solo exhibition, “Thread,” is currently on view at Mongol Art Gallery.
The exhibition features around 20 abstract works created using a thread-based appliqué technique. Through sewing and interwoven threads, Thread explores themes of time, memory, and the ever-changing nature of human character. The works stem from the artist’s simple yet deeply personal desire to preserve inner emotions and cherished memories.
Solongo seeks to immortalize fleeting moments and emotions from everyday life through her art. What initially felt like a process created solely for herself gradually evolved into a journey of self-discovery, allowing her to explore and better understand her inner world.
A defining characteristic of the works is their meditative process, shaped by repetitive movements and hours of patient labor. The artist describes the creative process as a moment when her hands, emotions, and memories fall into a single rhythm, blurring the boundary between the past and the present. These moments form the foundation of each piece.
