MUNKHBOLOR Ganbold

Member of the contemporary art movements Human-Nature-Love-Freedom and Blue Sun, artist Munkkh obtained his education in Green Horse Mongolian Contemporary Art College, at the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture and Muthesius Fine Art College in Germany. His series of solo exhibitions were held in Stockholm and in Ulaanbaatar. Artist Munkkh was invited to take part of important group exhibitions in Ulaanbaatar organized by the Mongolian Contemporary Art Support Association (MCASA), Blue Sun Contemporary Art Center and the Union of Mongolian Artists and collaborated with members of Human-Nature-Love-Freedom on a series of exhibitions. He is the recipient of grants from the MCASA, Alliance Française, the Swiss Agency for International Development and the U.S Embassy in Ulaanbaatar. Munkkh is well known in Mongolia for his contemporary portrait series, abstract landscape paintings, where he uses materials found on the street and construction sites, and also sculpture installations made of the skulls of animals that died during brutal natural disasters.
