Oyunchimeg was one of Mongolia's best known painters and a defining figure for contemporary Mongolian art. As an expert for graphics she has educated numerous young artists in this discipline. Focusing on portraiture, landscapes and still lifes, she produces moving and powerful works. Her strength lies in the realistic depiction of women, most of whom she knows personally. She merely aims to express her admiration of feminine beauty, yet a lot more lies beneath that simple notion. Born 1950 in Mongolia, she studied at the Fine Art College in Ulaanbaatar and the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia. Numerous exhibitions and awards in Mongolia and abroad among others at Tsagaandarium Art Gallery and UMA Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar; Zeit Galerie in Vienna, Austria; QCC Gallery in New York, Rodin Museum in Shizuoka, Japan; San Francisco and Las Vegas, USA; Rennes, France; Jeju, Korea. Participation in the in- ternational Art Triennial in Indien; awards such as "North Star" Order of Mongolia and Meritorious Artist of Mongolia.
