Two dragonflies made of steel and tensely faced against each other, are among the voyeuristic charcoal works that welcomes across the entrance to the gallery: , the viewer is invited yet challenged to step in, actively marking their entrance as opposed to passive frequentation. This initial interaction sets the tone for Uuganbayar’s (b. 1979) solo exhibition at Red Ger Gallery, ‘Through The Noematic Realms’, which spells out over a series of mixed media works how things are not fully what they seem. Playing on notions of viewership, surveillance, self discipline, and meditation, the exhibition travels between the realms of the artist, nodding to the frameworks that govern us and our involvement in each.
