Union of Mongolian Artist's Art Gallery
The Bronze Deer Leather Art Society
The first leather art education program preparing the professional artists was launched in Mongolia in 1971. This belongs to the period when the Fine Art School has become an independent school separated from the Music and Dance School. From that time, the decorative art classes, including the leather art, handicraft and art sculpture, were established and started to receive students for its four year program every three years. However, in 1988, the leather art class was deducted from the program. In 1991, I, Ariunbold, inherited the legacy of the leather art and began teaching in the fine art school. Furthermore, I developed and updated the education program and plans suitable to the market needs and created the methodologies connecting the traditional and modern techniques to make it more competitive and creative in the art industry. I have also introduced new opportunities to my students to show their performance and skills. As a result, more than 30 students in my classes in the past have established the Leather Art Society based on their common interest and goal to organize the exhibition to present their outstanding leather artworks annually and to introduce the leather art to the public.
The nomadic culture in the Central Asia is the part of the art to be pride of Mongolia.
It is the special profession that the mankind created based on unique and special skills and abilities requiring the sense of feeling and abilities available in the consumption and art culture in a wide range of abstract and communication arts. I wish all of my lovely students tall the best and good luck to continue to create the outstanding leather artworks to valuable for the Mongolian art and culture in the future.
